Last minute details

  1. What should I wear to the wedding?
    • Most people will be dressed formally, but the most important thing to us is that you are comfortable and warm. Don't hesitate to wear a coat, hat and gloves to the ceremony if it's chilly outside. (If it's absolutely freezing or raining, we have an indoor backup plan.)
    • Ofer will be wearing a suit, but you don't have to bring one along if you don't have the room for it.
    • Emily will be wearing a wedding dress, but you don't have to bring one along if you don't have room for it.
  2. What should I wear to the welcome lunch?
    • This is a casual affair. Think: jeans and a sweater. No need to wear anything fancy, because we won't be!
  3. When and where do I pay for the hotel room at Hotel Budir?
    • Payment will be made at checkout on Tuesday morning at the front desk of Hotel Budir. Currently, the exchange rate has each room ~170-220 USD. We've assigned your to your room based on how many people and/or children will be filling them as well as the hotel's requirements.
  4. Should I exchange money before arriving? How do I tip in Iceland?
    • We are planning on exchanging money after we arrive in Reykjavik. Either way should be fine! Make sure you do have some cash for road tolls and items like that, but Icelandic culture does not expect or require tipping for staff at hotels, restaurants, excursions, etc.
  5. What will the weather be like?
    • It looks as though temperatures should be in the 40s, perhaps a bit warmer in Reykjavik. However, the Snaefellsnes Peninsula (wedding venue) is ever-changing, can windy and it typically rains a portion of most days. SO BRING RAIN GEAR! It would be unusual for it to rain all day, everyday, but it never hurts to be prepared. It'll be cold at night.
  6. What should I pack?
    • Layers: dress for moderate to cool temps, rain, wind and, of course, swimming at the Blue Lagoon. Comfortable shoes if you're planning to join us on any hikes or excursions, jeans if you're horseback riding and, of course, something to wear at the wedding. Wear something you don't mind getting smoky to the bonfire on Sunday!
  7. Where are we meeting for the Golden Circle Tour?
    • If you've already signed up and paid for the tour, meet us for the tour in front of our AirB&B at 9:15 am. BE PROMPT; the buses are leaving at 9:30am sharp. Here is a link to the map; it is located on the corner of Laugavegur and Baronsstigur in the 101 downtown area of Reykjavik. Most people should be able to just walk over from their hotel/AirBNB, but there is a parking lot across the street (cost: 80 cents/hour) for those who need to drive. We've filled all the spots on both buses!
  8. What is your schedule in Iceland? How can we reach you?
